Mark Lalonde, Senior Manager
As a senior manager, Mark brings a vast amount management, leadership and law enforcement experience to Canpro. He holds a graduate degree from Royal Roads University, is a licensed investigator in two Canadian provinces, and has conducted research into the broad justice and public security sector overseas.
In his former role as Program Director at the Police Academy, Justice Institute of British Columbia (JI), Mark worked closely with over forty different provincial and federal agencies working in the areas of regulatory compliance, civil and criminal investigations, and various aspects of law enforcement. At the JI, he worked with client agencies involved in the areas of community and workplace safety, law enforcement, wild land fire investigations, forest crime investigations, casino security, school safety, and regulatory compliance inspections/investigations.
As a researcher, Mark has examined police board governance, law enforcement use of force, and the broad justice and public security sector in the Eastern Caribbean through the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform, a UN affiliated agency. He is currently involved in a law enforcement training project in South East Asia on behalf of UNICEF, and is a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade Crime Task Force. Mark is a sessional instructor in the criminology program at Douglas College, and sits on the Kwantlen University College criminology program advisory committee.
Mark is a former police officer, and received an outstanding police service award from the government of British Columbia.
